its not, usually the parts of the pineapple closest to the skin irritates your tongue. You don't have to be allergic. That's why you want to make sure its peeled fully and you remove the small circular spots with the same components of the skin from the edible parts of the pineapple before consumption.

unripe pineapples are poisonous (this little trivia fact isn't needed but lemme flex my nerdness/geekness), and ripe pineapples have a lot of acid in them, especially close to the skin (not as much acid as lemons or limes, but it's close)
